Using a Microphone

When recording audio, we recommend using a microphone to minimize background noise. This improves the accuracy of speech-to-text conversion and reduces the time needed for text corrections.

When recording with an IC recorder or smartphone, please use an external pickup microphone.

For Online Sessions

While it is possible to pick up sound with the built-in microphone on your PC, we recommend using a headset with a microphone as shown below. If using your PC’s microphone, please speak as close to the microphone as possible.

For Offline Sessions

Lectures, Study Sessions, Events, etc.

For events with a limited number of speakers, we recommend handheld microphones or stand microphones that keep the distance between the speaker’s mouth and the microphone short.

Meetings and Multi-person Conversations

The best approach is to record audio using a built-in conference system where each person has their own microphone, but this can be quite expensive in terms of equipment costs. If you’d like to “start with an affordable option for testing,” you can use multiple desktop microphones placed on tables to pick up sound. By properly positioning super-directional microphones, you can suppress ambient sound interference and capture clear audio focused on the speakers, resulting in relatively clean text conversion afterward.
