Transcribing Audio and Video Files (Smartphone Version)

Updated this week

Rimo Voice offers three methods to upload audio and video files for transcription.

① Selecting and Uploading Data Files

💡 Recommended file formats:

Audio: ".m4a" format

Video: ".mp4" format

*If uploads take a long time with formats like ".mp3" or ".wav", please convert audio files to ".m4a" and video files to ".mp4", then try uploading again.

①-1. Tap "+ Upload File" or the "+" button in the bottom right of the home screen, then tap "Select File" from the menu that appears, and choose the file you want to transcribe.

If you don't know where your recorded audio data is stored on your smartphone, please refer to the following. Setting this up in advance will make it easier to find files for future uploads:

①-2. For transcription, select the following and click "Transcribe with these settings":

  • Upload team (destination folder for transcription results)

  • Language for analysis

  • Dictionary to use

If you're using a pay-as-you-go plan (individual plan), press "OK" to begin uploading.

When uploading video files, enable "Audio Only" if you only want to transcribe the audio.

①-3. Once the upload is complete, speech recognition analysis will begin. When the "Audio Analysis in Progress" notification disappears, the transcription text will be displayed. Switch between the "Minutes" and "Transcription" tabs and make additions or corrections as needed.

Analysis time varies depending on the amount of text to be analyzed (approximately 5 minutes for 1 hour of audio).

If the analysis doesn't complete after some time, try reloading the page.

② Uploading Audio/Video via URL

You don't need to prepare audio/video files on your PC. Simply paste a sharing URL from Zoom, Google Drive, YouTube, etc.

*Note: Upload may fail if the URL has viewing restrictions such as passcode protection.

As of March 1, 2022, we have confirmed compatibility with the following services:

  • Zoom

  • Google Drive

  • YouTube

We plan to increase the lineup of supported services in the future. If you have requests for services you'd like us to support, please let us know through our Contact Form. We will consider your feedback for future development.

Important Notice (01/28/2025)

Regarding the YouTube integration feature, due to changes in YouTube's specifications, the direct upload function from YouTube is temporarily unavailable.

However, uploads from Google Drive continue to be available.

We are currently considering alternative integration methods. We will notify you once the function is restored.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

②-1. Tap "+ Upload File" or the "+" button in the bottom right of the home screen, then select "Enter URL" from the menu that appears. Paste the URL you want to transcribe and tap the check mark. The steps from here are the same as ①-2 onwards.

③ Uploading Recording Data via Recording Import

③-1. On the upload screen, select "Import Recording" and tap "OK".

③-2. If the recording import settings are complete, information about the meetings available for import will be displayed. Check the meeting you want to transcribe and tap "Transcribe with these settings". The steps from here are the same as ①-2 onwards.
